🕒 24 Hours Before Your Appointment
-
The Patch Test: Apply a pea-sized amount of TKTX to your inner arm. Leave it for 30 minutes, then wash off. If no redness or itching occurs within 24 hours, you are safe to proceed.
-
Hydrate: Drink plenty of water. Hydrated skin absorbs the cream more effectively.
-
Stay Sober: Avoid alcohol or aspirin, as these can thin the blood and may reduce the cream's effectiveness.
🚿 90 Minutes Before Your Appointment
-
Cleanse: Wash the area to be treated with warm, soapy water. This removes dead skin and oils.
-
Exfoliate (Optional): Gently scrubbing the area helps the cream penetrate deeper.
-
Apply a Thick Layer: Apply a heavy layer (2mm–3mm thick) of TKTX. Do not rub it in. It should look like a thick white mask on your skin.
-
Seal with Plastic Wrap: Cover the area with Saran Wrap / Cling Film. Ensure the edges are sealed so no air can get in. The heat generated under the plastic "activates" the cream.
⏳ During the Wait
-
Keep it on for 60–90 minutes. Do not exceed 120 minutes.
-
Keep the area warm (but do not use a heating pad).
-
You may feel a slight tingling or "cold" sensation—this is normal.
🎨 At the Studio/Clinic
-
Do not remove the wrap until you arrive at the studio.
-
The artist/practitioner will remove the plastic wrap and wipe away the excess cream right before they begin.
-
The numbing effect typically lasts between 3 to 5 hours, depending on the specific TKTX color used.
⚠️ Important Safety Warnings
DO NOT use TKTX if you have a known allergy to Lidocaine or Prilocaine. DO NOT apply to broken skin, rashes, or open wounds. DO NOT ingest the product or get it in your eyes. CONSULT YOUR ARTIST before applying, as some artists have specific preferences for skin preparation.
Why Choose Authentic TKTX?
Using counterfeit numbing products can result in skin irritation, poor ink retention, or simply no numbing at all. Ensure your safety by purchasing only from authorized distributors.
